DFAC Trucks Australia has expanded the accessory offering for its Captain 45, confirming locally designed and manufactured bull bars and a 3.5-tonne towbar for the 4.5-tonne truck.

The new accessories have been developed with Australian operating conditions and customer requirements in mind, with both products designed to integrate with the Captain 45's existing vehicle systems while meeting Australian Design Rules (ADR) requirements.

DFAC has partnered with Australian manufacturer Whitlock Bull Bars to produce a genuine factory-approved bull bar for the Captain 45.

The car-licence model is available as both a cab chassis and a WordReady Allow Tray model, with pricing from $59,990 drive-away.

Whitlocks brings more than three decades of manufacturing experience to the partnership, with more than 1200 separately designed product lines. The DFAC bull bar will be manufactured in Australia using locally sourced materials.

The purpose-built design has been developed specifically for the Captain 45, allowing for straightforward installation and servicing. Customers will also have access to nationwide support, with the bull bar covered by a lifetime manufacturing warranty.

“Bull bars are demanded by many truck customers in Australia and DFAC has ensured that this crucial option is available for the Captain 45,” said Business and Network Development Manager for DFAC Trucks Australia, Nathan James.

“The Whitlock bar was specifically designed to integrate with the vehicle and meets all the truck protection requirements as well as being fully airbag compliant.

“It is chrome-finished making for a cosmetically sharp appearance adding to the look of the truck for operators that want their rig to stand out.”

3.5-Tonne Towbar Added to DFAC Captain 45

DFAC has also partnered with X-Country to offer a 3.5-tonne towbar for the Captain 45.

Designed specifically for the truck, the towbar complies with ADR requirements and has been developed around the vehicle's 3.5-tonne towing capacity.

The X-Country towbar includes a chassis-matched warranty covering seven years or 250,000 kilometres.

A plug-and-play wiring harness is also included, simplifying installation while allowing the towbar to integrate with the DFAC's vehicle systems.

“On top of its 4.5-tonne GVM the all-new DFAC Captain 45 has a tow rating of 3.5-tonnes, and the towbar from X-Country meets the needs of what operators expect,” said Mr James.

“We have worked with X-Country to make sure that the wiring harness integrates directly to the DFAC systems to once again ensure safety and easy installation.”

DFAC Captain 45 Engine and Safety Specifications

The Captain 45 is powered by a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel Cummins engine, producing 121 kW of power and 400 Nm of maximum torque.

The truck can be driven on a car licence at its standard 4.5-tonne GVM, while operators with an LR licence can upgrade the GVM to 6 tonnes.

With a 3300mm wheelbase, the Captain 45 is positioned for a range of applications, from owner-operators through to fleet operations.

Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, a high-resolution reverse camera, parking sensors, cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist.

Smartphone integration is also available through the truck's 13-inch infotainment system.

DFAC is offering the Captain 45 in six colours, giving operators the opportunity to select a finish suited to their business or personal preference:

DFAC Trucks is distributed in Australia by KRW Motor Group Pty Ltd, with the brand continuing to build its national dealership network alongside additional service centres designed to support customers after purchase.

The partnership with Whitlock Bull Bars and X-Country will extend beyond the Captain 45, with both suppliers set to provide DFAC-approved accessory systems for future medium and heavy-duty truck models.
