Isuzu Owners Step Up for 2025 Truck of the Year Awards
Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has revealed the winners of its annual Truck of the Year awards, recognising the hardworking customers and businesses who depend on their Isuzu trucks every day across Australia.
IAL Marketing and Advertising Manager Sam Gangemi said the program shines a spotlight on dedicated operators who trust Isuzu as their preferred transport partner.
“It’s always fantastic to see the range of entries from businesses across Australia, and the ways that the owners and operators call out the role their trucks play in their daily operations,” said Mr Gangemi.
“For more than 20 years, we’ve proudly backed the trucking community by giving drivers and small operators the opportunity to share their stories and showcase their pride in their Isuzu trucks.
“While we celebrate this year’s winners, we also extend our gratitude to every Australian truck driver who keeps our industries and communities connected.”
Expert Panel Selects 2025 Finalists
Each year, Isuzu’s specialist judging panel reviews monthly category winners before selecting the finalists and overall champion.
“This year we saw a high number of entrants, with N Series as the model range most entered,” said Mr Gangemi.
“The competition allows us to witness firsthand the innovative applications and custom designs our customers create. There were some truly inspiring builds in 2025.
“Thank you to all who entered, and congratulations to our 2025 prize winners!”
Winners from each Isuzu Trucks Series category (N Series, F Series and FX/FY Series) receive a $1,500 prepaid Digital MasterCard, while the overall champion is awarded a $6,000 prepaid Digital MasterCard and crowned the 2025 Truck of the Year.
2025 Overall Truck of the Year Winner – The Glenapp Boys
Isuzu Australia has proudly named The Glenapp Boys, entered by Rob Sibson, as the 2025 Overall Truck of the Year and Grand Prize Winner.
Rob’s NPR 65-190 Crew Cab stood out for its immaculate presentation, adaptability, and the important role it plays in supporting volunteer work within the community.
Finished with eye-catching custom paint and a purpose-built body configuration, the truck includes extensive storage solutions that transform it into a genuine home away from home.
Its versatile tray carries equipment ranging from a Toro zero-turn mower to a bulk water tank, assisting Rob’s volunteer efforts maintaining the historic Glenapp Railway Station.
Along with the overall title, The Glenapp Boys also claimed top honours in the N Series category.
N Series Truck of the Year – The Glenapp Boys
Rob Sibson from the Gold Coast, Queensland, is the proud owner of the standout NPR 65-190 Crew Cab, which secured the 2025 N Series Truck of the Year award.
His NPR has been extensively customised, from bespoke bodywork and paint to powder-coated aluminium wheels, added fuel capacity and upgraded airbag suspension.
“The truck itself is standard, but I’ve added what I wanted. Ride comfort, pulling power, turning circle, it’s all there”, said Rob.
Despite its size, Rob says the NPR continues to exceed expectations when it comes to manoeuvrability.
“It’s got a better turning circle than most vehicles,” he says.
“You can get it into places people don’t expect a truck to fit.”
The NPR doubles as Rob’s daily transport. Each Friday, he loads up supplies and heads to Glenapp Railway Station, where he spends weekends preserving the historic site he and his late brother Dennis began restoring years ago.
The truck carries tools, fuel, maintenance gear and even serves as accommodation when needed.
“It’s a crew cab, so I sleep in the back of it sometimes,” he says. “I’ll sit here in the afternoon breeze, look out over the valley, and just take it all in.”
2025 F Series Truck of the Year – Duniam Freight
The 2025 F Series award has been taken out by Duniam Freight with its Isuzu FVL 240-300 Freightpack, operated by Lisa Smith from Kings Meadow, Tasmania.
Since taking delivery in late 2023, Lisa has travelled close to 200,000 kilometres statewide, with her distinctive butterfly and floral decals making the truck instantly recognisable.
“I am just under five feet tall, but the truck has been awesome with the seating position having right up on the wheel and no skinning my knees like my male colleagues. All round it is a win win for me.”
FX/FY Series Truck of the Year 2025 – Bin Master Skips
The FX/FY Series category was awarded to Bin Master Skips for its Isuzu FYJ 300-350 MWB, entered by owner Jaydn Clarke from Albion Park, New South Wales.
Bin Master Skips is a family-owned skip bin hire business servicing the Illawarra region through to Nowra in the Shoalhaven NSW area.
The company recently added a new MY25 NQR to complement the FYJ, a move that strengthened its operational capability.
“It really boosted our capability in the industry and was a huge step forward for a young business,” said Jaydn.
“It turns heads whenever it’s seen on the road, kids love it.”
