The IVECO Daily 50C Cab Chassis has been named 2026 Fleet Truck of the Year – Light Duty at Fleet News Group’s inaugural fleet awards, earning recognition for its performance, driver comfort and suitability for commercial fleet operations.

The judging panel consisted predominantly of experienced fleet managers, with assessments focused on real-world performance, value for money and manufacturer support in fleet environments.

While the Daily demonstrated strong all-round capability, judges highlighted its high levels of driver comfort, an important consideration that can sometimes be overlooked when selecting commercial vehicles.

Each truck was assessed against six weighted criteria. Driving and on-road experience, along with engine and transmission options, each accounted for 20 per cent of the overall score. Chassis and suspension options, sustainability and safety, manufacturer support, and workspace ergonomics each contributed 15 per cent.

Fleet News Group award judges said:

“The driving experience is much closer to a car or van than a conventional truck, making it easy to settle into and less intimidating for drivers who may not spend every day in a light-duty truck...

The Daily’s combination of commercial capability, a comfortable driving experience and a class-leading cabin was enough to put it at the top of the scorecard.”

Commenting on the achievement, IVECO National Manager – Fleet Sales, James Johnson, said the recognition was particularly satisfying for the brand.

“This award reinforces what our customers tell us every day: the Daily delivers an outstanding blend of driver comfort, productivity, safety and operating efficiency,” James said.

“To have these qualities acknowledged and confirmed through reputable third-party testing is extremely satisfying. Even more gratifying is that the awards were judged mainly by fleet managers – these are people with intrinsic knowledge of what it takes to successfully run capital equipment to get the greatest productivity from their investment.”

The latest-generation IVECO Daily range received updates earlier this year, continuing the model’s development to meet the changing requirements of Australian fleet operators.

With a wide choice of wheelbases, Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) ratings of up to 7.2 tonnes, dual-cab configurations, work-ready variants and 4x4 models, the range caters to a broad range of light-duty commercial applications.

Supported by IVECO’s national service network, the Daily cab chassis and van range offers fleet operators versatile options designed to support productivity, driver comfort and operational efficiency.
