Enhanced Hino 300 Series Launches with New Euro 6 Diesel and Hybrid Electric Options

The latest evolution of the highly regarded Hino 300 Series light-duty truck range is now available across Australia, with Euro 6-compliant diesel models joining the established Euro 6 Hybrid Electric lineup.

“The 2026 Hino 300 Series is engineered for businesses that demand exceptional performance, dependable reliability, and long-term durability,” said Daniel Petrovski, Manager of Product Strategy for Hino Australia.

“With proven drivelines that feature a true automatic transmission delivering effortless operation, advanced Hino SmartSafe safety features, and the support of Hino Advantage, the Hino 300 Series is built to handle the toughest workloads, day in and day out.

“The Euro 6 Hybrid Electric range has proven its reliability and durability in Australia since 2021 - it is now joined by Euro 6-compliant diesel cab chassis and Built to Go models meaning Hino now offers solutions for a multitude of light-duty applications,” said Mr Petrovski.

“A sequential shifter plus new LED headlamps and fog lamps offer enhanced control and visibility to deliver a safer, smoother and more confident drive for operators,” he said.

Proven Euro 6 Diesel Performance for Australian Businesses

The upgraded Hino 300 Series diesel range has been designed to deliver a strong combination of power, fuel efficiency and driving performance, making it suitable for businesses operating across a variety of industries.

“Our proven true automatic transmission and four litre engine mean drivers do not experience any torque interruptions between gear shifts while also benefiting from quick acceleration and lower whole-of-life costs.

“The new sequential shifter enables drivers to manually select gears or simply engage Drive mode, allowing the vehicle to choose the most appropriate gear for the driving conditions, which improves performance while reducing driver effort and fatigue,” said Mr Petrovski.

At the heart of the range is Hino’s proven four-litre engine, engineered for durability, long service life and operational efficiency. Combined with the true automatic transmission, the driveline achieves a Gross Combined Mass (GCM) of 8 tonnes, enabling 4.5-tonne Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) car-licence holders to tow a fully loaded truck with a 3.5-tonne trailer.

“The 300 Series provides our car-licenced customers with high levels of safety in an easy-to-drive, high payload vehicle, with the added advantage of an 8 tonne GCM capability,” said Mr Petrovski.

Drivers transitioning from passenger vehicles will appreciate the familiarity and simplicity of the automatic transmission, helping businesses broaden their driver recruitment pool.

“The ease of the automatic transmission across the range helps businesses to recruit and retain drivers,” said Mr Petrovski.

Whether navigating busy city streets, construction sites or regional highways, the diesel-powered 300 Series delivers dependable performance for urban deliveries, trade applications and freight transport.

Australia's Only Hybrid Electric Light-Duty Truck Range

Hino Australia continues to lead the market with its Hybrid Electric range, which combines diesel and electric technologies to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions while maintaining everyday practicality.

“We have an extensive model line-up from car-licenced 4.5 tonne GVM up to the maximum light-rigid licenced 8 tonne GVM,” said Mr Petrovski.

“With a light-duty solution for every industry or task, the Hybrid Electric delivers fuel savings and emission reductions of up to 22% with no recharging or range limitations.

The Hybrid Electric system seamlessly integrates a diesel engine and electric motor, automatically switching between power sources to maximise efficiency and reduce operating costs without requiring driver intervention.

Its self-charging capability is enabled through regenerative braking technology, which captures energy during deceleration and stores it in the battery for use during acceleration.

New LED Lighting and Hino SmartSafe Safety Technology

Safety has been further enhanced across the 300 Series range with the introduction of LED headlamps and fog lamps. Diesel variants also receive Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), helping improve visibility in a variety of driving conditions.

Every Hino 300 Series model comes equipped with Hino SmartSafe as standard, providing a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety systems.

Key features include a Pre-Collision System with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Reverse Camera, Lane Departure Warning System and Vehicle Stability Control, helping protect drivers, businesses and other road users.

Driver Comfort and Connectivity Designed for Productivity

“The Hino 300 Series was designed with the driver in mind and maintains exceptional levels of cab comfort and interior ergonomics, complemented by innovative, easy-to-use technology, further reducing driver fatigue,” said Mr Petrovski.

“A tilt and telescopically adjustable steering wheel ensures the driver is relaxed during the daily operations,” he continued.

The cabin features an intuitive dashboard layout with a centrally positioned speedometer and a high-contrast 4.2-inch TFT LCD Multi Information Display for improved visibility and ease of use.

“Long days behind the wheel are more comfortable thanks to the Multimedia Unit, which features a 10.1-inch ultra-high-definition capacitive touchscreen, intuitive controls and a volume dial, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide seamless in-cabin connectivity,” said Mr Petrovski.

Every model is fitted with a fully adjustable, ergonomically designed driver's seat. Wide Cab variants also benefit from torsion-bar seat suspension and an extended slide adjustment range to accommodate drivers of different heights while improving ride comfort and reducing fatigue.

Hino Advantage Delivers Complete Ownership Support

All Hino 300 Series models are backed by Hino Advantage, the brand’s customer support program designed to maximise uptime and minimise operating disruptions.

The package includes a five-year or 250,000-kilometre standard warranty (whichever comes first), five years of roadside assistance and capped-price servicing using Hino Genuine Parts.
